Karen and Ian Milne's recent move to Sotheby's International Realty was a decision carefully made, it enables them to maximize their international business background with their passion for Real Estate.

Prior to entering her career in Real Estate, Karen spent 30 years in International High Technology in both the US and Europe. In 1995, she was a Cofounder, President and CEO of Stardust Technologies, Inc. and Stardust.com. She was Cofounder and COO of Aventail Corporation in 1996 and cofounder and Executive Vice President of cPower Inc, in 2000. The Stardust group of companies were sold to Penton Media in 1999 where Karen continued on as President of Stardust through February 2002.

Personal Interests - In addition to being a passionate gardener, Karen is a textile artist who has won many awards at the MPQG Guild and Monterey County Fair. She also dabbles in gemology, jewelry making, walking the dog, hiking, sailing, and cooking for friends.

Ian Milne

Originally from Scotland, Ian has over thirty years of experience in the High Technology Industry both in the USA and Europe. He is an accomplished high profile executive having managed start ups and established corporations ranging in size from $20M to $1.5B in annual sales revenues. Ian was Managing Director- Europe for Aironet prior to the company being acquired by Cisco Systems in 1999. Prior to this, he was CEO of Specialix Inc. a leading provider of networking products based in Campbell, CA. and before that V.P. Sales and Marketing at Klever Computers in Sunnyvale, CA. As one of the earlier 3Com employees, Ian was Managing Director - Europe and established the very successful 3Com subsidiary in Europe.

Personal Interests - Growing up on the water Ian's main passion has always been sailing and he has a personal goal to one day be able to sail around the world. His dream boat would be a Nordhavn with enough room for family including Tommy Bahama, their dog. Other favorite outdoor activities include hiking, kayaking and of course being walked on the leash by the dog. Thankfully Carmel is a dog owner friendly town and owners are allowed off-leash on the beach.
